Hi, I’m Kirsty Pendreich, the founder of Anchor Business Partnering.
This business isn’t just something I created — it’s the result of major life changes, years of professional experience, and a genuine commitment to helping people feel confident and in control of their finances.
My career began in Scotland, where I graduated with First-Class Honours in Accounting and Finance from Napier University in Edinburgh. I went on to qualify as a PIIA Internal Auditor, then later as an ACCA accountant (CPA equivalent in Australia).
Over the years, I’ve held a variety of senior finance roles, including serving as a Senior Finance Business Partner in local government, where I managed multi-million-dollar budgets and led a high-performing team. After emigrating to Australia, I also worked in a senior finance role within one of Australia’s largest insurers, gaining invaluable experience in commercial finance, risk, and strategic operations.
The Creation of Anchor Business Partnering
Our Story
When my family and I moved from Scotland to Australia, it brought a fresh perspective to my life. I wanted to create a balance where I could continue building a fulfilling, professional career while also being present for my husband and our two children. That balance — between family life and professional ambition — became a guiding principle for the next stage of my journey.
At the same time, I kept meeting business owners who were seeking more than bookkeeping support. They wanted someone experienced, someone steady, someone who could offer genuine financial insight and partnership. Those conversations helped me realise that there was a gap I could fill: providing true finance partnering, not just transactional services.
And that’s how Anchor Business Partnering came to life.
